Watertown, Wis. (March 18, 2024) – The City of Watertown’s Mayor Emily McFarland, Strategic Initiatives and Development Coordinator Mason Becker, and the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Director Bonnie Hertel, recently paid a visit to MetalTek. The manufacturing business, situated at 661 S. 12th Street in Watertown, is a manufacturer of metal cast products that are used in a wide range of critical applications. Products manufactured by the company are used in a variety of industries, including defense, petrochemicals, renewable energy, and aviation.

The tour was given by local team members of MetalTek, including Randy Altmann, General Manager, and Carl Bednark, Operations Manager, as well as Mike McCleary, Sales Manager, and Jim Myers, Technical Director.
The company, which was originally founded in 1944, continues to grow and recently completed a $13 million investment which took place over the past two years. The continued facility upgrades have allowed MetalTek to grow its footprint to its current size of approximately 70,000 square feet. The company currently employs approximately 100 people locally.

“MetalTek continues to be one of our strong local manufacturers, providing quality employment opportunities while also manufacturing some very cool and innovative products that are used by widely known companies such as Emerson, Raytheon, and Lockheed Martin,” said Mayor Emily McFarland. “We appreciate their continued investment in their Watertown manufacturing facility.”

“MetalTek is a key employer and manufacturer here in Watertown. I think many residents and visitors would be surprised to learn about the wide range of critical components that are being made right here in our community,” said Mason Becker, Strategic Initiatives and Development Coordinator. “Their products make their way around the entire world.”
