It's rummage sale season! Citywide rummage sales are coming up later this week - here are a few reminders:
Please remember that rummage sale signs must be placed in your yard, not the boulevard area or on the sidewalk.
If you need furniture removed after the sale, you must call the solid waste division to pre-pay and arrange for pick-up. The City team will not automatically pick up any items that are outside of your garbage and recycle carts.
Consider donating unsold, useable clothing, blankets, books and small household items to a local charity!
Items with a cord – appliances and electronics, and extra cords CANNOT be placed in the blue recycle carts. These items must be recycled at the Street and Recycle Center.
Please call or DM if you have questions. Thank you, and happy rummaging!

🚒 Fire Station Progress Update! 🚧
Things are really shaping up at the new Watertown Fire Station! Over the past couple of weeks, crews have been hard at work finishing the resinous flooring, installing ceiling tiles, putting up signage, and making progress on the elevator. You may have noticed the fresh asphalt and line striping outside, along with the new concrete apron on Bernard Street and some sleek new light poles. Behind the scenes, our fire department has also been getting trained on all the new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Looking ahead, there’s still more to come—like installing the rooftop patio railing and pavers, wrapping up elevator inspections, landscaping, and getting power to the training tower. We’re also getting ready for the big step: the occupancy inspection!
We’re excited to see it all coming together and can’t wait to open the doors soon. Thanks for following along!
