Beginning on Thursday, August 13th, the City of Watertown will close East Main Street to through traffic from North Ninth Street to North Concord Avenue for utility work. The closure is weather dependent.

The City of Watertown Water Department applied for and received a grant through the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) to replace private lead service laterals. 5 Star Infrastructure Services of Waukesha, WI, is scheduled to begin the work on Thursday, August 13th.

A signed detour route will be posted by the contractor in advance of the road closure. Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling near the work zone and consider alternate routes when possible.

The City appreciates the public's patience and cooperation as this important infrastructure work is completed.
