The City of Watertown, in partnership with the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce, continued its Industry and Innovation Tour with a recent visit to Watertown Country Club, a community asset that extends far beyond its role as a golf course.
Mayor Stocks and City staff toured the facility to learn more about the Country Club’s operations, event offerings, and vision for future growth. The visit is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen relationships with local organizations and highlight the diverse drivers of Watertown’s economy.
“Watertown Country Club is a great example of how a traditional recreational amenity can evolve into a multi-purpose destination,” said Mayor Stocks. “It plays an important role not only in recreation, but also in tourism, events, and quality of life for our residents.”
During the visit, Country Club leadership shared plans for future expansion aimed at enhancing the overall guest experience and increasing the facility’s capacity to host events. In addition to golf, the Watertown Country Club has become an increasingly popular venue for weddings, receptions, corporate gatherings, and community events, offering scenic views, flexible event space, and full-service hospitality.
Discussions focused on opportunities to further position the Country Club as a regional destination, attract visitors to Watertown, and support local economic activity through event-driven tourism.
“Facilities like the Watertown Country Club are key to creating a vibrant and attractive community,” said Linden Peacy, Executive Director of the Watertown Area Chamber of Commer. “They not only serve residents, but also draw visitors for weddings and events, which supports our local businesses and strengthens our economy.”
The Industry and Innovation Tour is a collaborative initiative between the City and the Chamber to showcase the breadth of Watertown’s business and nonprofit community - from manufacturers and healthcare providers to hospitality and event venues - while identifying opportunities for continued growth and partnership.
