The City of Watertown, as part of its Industry and Innovation Tours collaboration with the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce, recently toured the Watertown campus of Madison College, elevating its continued focus on workforce development and education partnerships.
Mayor Stocks met with campus leadership and staff to learn more about the programs, training opportunities, and community partnerships offered through the campus. The visit underscored the critical role Madison College plays in preparing a skilled workforce aligned with regional employer needs.
Discussions centered on expanding access to training programs, strengthening connections between students and local businesses, and identifying opportunities for new or customized workforce initiatives—particularly in high-demand fields such as manufacturing, healthcare, and emerging bio-industries.
“A strong workforce pipeline is essential to economic growth,” said Mayor Stocks. “Our partnership with Madison College is key to ensuring residents have access to the skills and opportunities needed to succeed—and that our businesses have access to talent.”
The Industry and Innovation Tour is a collaborative initiative between the City and the Chamber to showcase the diversity of Watertown’s economic base - from advanced manufacturing and healthcare to agriculture and hospitality - while identifying opportunities for partnership and growth.
