Beginning on Wednesday, May 6th, Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) general contractor, Payne and Dolan, will close State Highway 16 from County Highway L to E Main St for resurfacing. WisDOT and local detours for this closure will go into effect on May 6, 2026. Refer to the attached maps for details. It is expected that the closure and detour will remain in effect for the duration of the project.
This project is funded and managed by WisDOT. The project scope of work includes surface milling, base patching, concrete repair, concrete replacement, asphalt pavement, grading, guardrail, pavement markings, and signage. The project has a completion date of July 17th, 2026.

The intersections of STH 16 with N Fourth Street, Boulder Road, N Second Street, and N Water Street will be closed to cross traffic.
The closure will begin on the north side of the new roundabout installed in 2025, leaving it open to traffic.
