S. Ninth Street One-Way to Two-Way Traffic Conversion
Watertown, Wis. (March 30, 2026) – The City is planning to convert this section of S. Ninth Street from a one-way street to a two-way street. This change is being made to improve traffic flow, enhance accessibility for residents and local businesses, and increase overall safety in the area.
What to Expect:
• Traffic will be permitted in both directions on S. Ninth Street.
• New pavement markings and signage will be installed to guide drivers.
• Drivers are encouraged to use caution as they adjust to the new traffic pattern.
Timeline: The conversion is scheduled to begin on April 1, 2026, with completion expected that same day, weather permitting.
Safety Reminder: As drivers and pedestrians adjust to this new configuration, we encourage everyone to remain alert, follow posted signs, and use caution when traveling through the area.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve our community’s transportation network. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Engineering Division of the Department of Public Works.
