Watertown, Wis. (March 23, 2026) – The City of Watertown is scheduling important tree removal operations to address hazardous trees and ensure public safety. Two separate projects are planned for the week of March 23, 2026, weather permitting.
Oak Hill Cemetery Hazardous Tree Removals The City has contracted Cut N Go to perform hazardous tree removals at Oak Hill Cemetery. For the safety of residents, visitors, and work crews, the cemetery will be closed to the public during this period.
Closure Dates and Times: Weekdays from Wednesday, March 25 through Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. while crews are on site.
Note: The cemetery will reopen outside these hours and after work concludes, subject to daily progress and conditions.
This work is dependent on favorable weather. Residents planning visits are encouraged to contact the Cemetery office for updates.
Tree Removal on Western Avenue The City of Watertown Park, Recreation, and Forestry Department, in coordination with Asplundh, will conduct a tree removal at 706 Western Avenue.
Road Closure Details: The westbound lane of Western Avenue will be closed from S. Eighth Street to S. Seventh Street.
Work Dates and Times: Tuesday, March 24 and Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Safety Measures: The closure is necessary for the protection of residents and city crews. Motorists should use alternate routes and expect delays in the area.
This project is also weather-dependent.
