The Watertown Senior & Community Center honored local service members with a Veterans Day Celebration on Monday, November 10, bringing together more than 80 community members, including 20 veterans, for an afternoon of gratitude, fellowship, and remembrance.
Guests enjoyed live music by Paul Hieser, setting a joyful tone for the event. Speakers Andrea Draeger, Mayor Robert Stocks, and Steve Zillmer shared words of appreciation for the men and women who have served in the Armed Forces, recognizing their courage, sacrifice, and commitment to protecting our freedoms.
The celebration also featured special raffle prizes. Louis “Wayne” Mollohan was the winner of a commemorative paver, which will be placed at Veterans Memorial Park in his honor. Jody Weihert won a beautiful handmade quilt, donated by Shelly Zastrow, with proceeds from the raffle benefiting AMVETS, a local organization supporting veterans and their families.
“The Veterans Day celebration is one of our most meaningful traditions,” said Andrea Draeger, Director of Senior & Enrichment Services. “It’s always heartwarming to see our community come together to honor those who have served and to celebrate their impact on our lives.”
The Watertown Senior & Community Center extends thanks to all who attended, participated, and donated towards the event.
