Watertown, WI, November 6, 2025 — The Watertown Public Library is inviting community members to take part in one of two upcoming community conversation sessions designed to help shape the library’s next strategic plan. These conversations are intended to gather feedback, aspirations, and ideas from residents about the future of the Watertown community—and how the library can best support that future.
The facilitated discussions will provide a welcoming space for participants to share their hopes for the Watertown Public Library, express any concerns, and explore what actions or resources may strengthen the community as a whole. No prior knowledge of the library is required, and participants do not need to be current library users to attend. The focus of each conversation is the community itself—its needs, its voice, and its vision for the library.
“What we learn from these conversations will help us ensure that our services, programs, and resources truly reflect the aspirations of the people who live here,” said Peg Checkai, Director of the Watertown Public Library. “While not every idea will result in a new program or service, every idea will be heard. Your voice matters in this process.”
The feedback gathered will be used in the development of the library’s strategic plan, guiding how the library supports learning, connection, and community wellbeing in the years ahead.
