Starting Wednesday, June 4, Fahrner Asphalt Sealers will begin chip sealing work on a number of streets throughout Watertown as part of the city's 2025 street maintenance program.
The streets scheduled for chip sealing include:
Milford Street (from City Limits to Johnson Street – 7,381 ft)
Valview Court (from East Spaulding Street to terminus – 405 ft)
Mary Knoll Lane (from Carriage Hill Drive to Country Lane – 1,642 ft)
Oak Street (from North Vo Tech Drive to Lowell Street – 1,395 ft)
Neenah Street (from Boomer Street to William Street – 2,712 ft)
Crews are expected to complete the work by Friday, June 6, weather permitting. Streets will remain open, but temporary lane closures may occur to ensure the safety of workers. No parking will be allowed on streets undergoing chip sealing during operations.
The city also cautions drivers that loose stone chips will remain on the roads for 3 to 5 days following application.
Flaggers may be present to direct traffic during active work hours, and the City of Watertown reminds all drivers to “Give ‘em a Brake” by reducing speed through the construction areas.
The city thanks residents and commuters for their patience as it works to maintain local roadways.
