Fire Department Open House June 8th, 1 to 3 pm

WATERTOWN, WI – April 28, 2025 – The City of Watertown is proud to announce an Open House for the community to tour the newly-constructed Fire Department facility located at 621 Bernard Street. The event will take place on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

This family-friendly event will feature light refreshments, guided tours of the new facility, face painting, a bounce house, and a variety of activities for children. Residents are encouraged to attend, meet their local firefighters, and explore the state-of-the-art amenities that will serve the Watertown community for years to come.

The new fire station was made possible following a Common Council resolution passed in July 2023 approving funding for the project. Construction began in spring 2024, and the project represents a major investment in public safety infrastructure.

Funding for the facility was secured through borrowing, resulting in a one-time increase of $0.01 in the City’s portion of the tax mill rate for 2024. This modest adjustment amounts to approximately $1.00 annually per $100,000 of assessed property value and is scheduled to remain in place for four years.

“The new fire station reflects our community’s commitment to public safety and preparedness,” said Fire Chief Tanya Reynen. “We are excited to welcome residents into this important new facility and celebrate the continued growth and resilience of Watertown.”
