Watertown, Wis. (March 12, 2025) – Beginning on Monday, March 17th, Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) contractor, LaLonde Contractors, Inc., will begin tree and pavement removals within the 2025 S. First Street & Western Avenue Reconstruction project area, which will be closed to through traffic. A detour for these closures will go into effect on March 17, 2025. It’s expected that the closure and detour will remain in effect for the duration of the project.

The reconstruction project is funded partially through the WisDOT Surface Transportation Program and is a WisDOT managed project. The project scope of work includes new concrete pavement, curb, sidewalk, bike lanes, storm sewer, and water main construction. The project has a completion date of July 31st, 2025.

Additional Information:
Street/Solid Waste Division will be accessible via the gate on Clyman and S. Second Street. Residents should take S. Third Street to Clyman Street, and enter through the gate on S. Second Street. Residents and Delivery Drivers must follow the barricades through the yard, and check in at the office before dropping off any items. Gate will be open 6:30am - 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.
