High Water Levels Between Dams - No Wake Advisory Issued

Watertown, Wis. (June 4, 2024) – Due to recent significant rain events, water levels between the Upper and Lower Dams in the City of Watertown have risen substantially. In the interest of public safety and to prevent property damage, the City has issued a No Wake Advisory for this area effective immediately.

Residents and visitors are urged to exercise caution when navigating the waterways between the dams. The increased water levels can create hazardous conditions, including strong currents and potential for submerged debris.

The No Wake Advisory means that boaters must operate at the slowest possible speed necessary to maintain control and headway. This measure is critical to minimize wave action that could exacerbate flooding, erosion, and damage to waterfront properties.

The City of Watertown is actively monitoring the situation and will provide updates as conditions change. We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of all residents and visitors in adhering to this advisory to ensure the safety of our community and the preservation of our natural resources.
