CADY STREET BRIDGE REHABILITATION PROJECTÂ CONSTRUCTION TO BEGIN SEPTEMBER 20, 2023
Watertown, Wis. (September 14, 2023) – The City of Watertown is pleased to announce that the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has contracted with Zenith Tech to perform essential improvements on the Cady Street Bridge over the Rock River. This project represents a significant step in enhancing the safety and reliability of one of Watertown's critical transportation arteries.
The scope of work for the project will include:
- Concrete deck overlay to enhance the bridge's durability and lifespan.
- Miscellaneous structure repairs to address wear and tear.
- Asphalt paving for smoother and safer road conditions.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS & DETOUR: To facilitate the necessary construction work, the Cady Street Bridge will be temporarily closed to all traffic during the project's duration. A detour has been established to help residents and commuters navigate the construction area with minimal inconvenience. The detour will be as follows:
- Cady Street eastbound traffic will be redirected south on Church Street.
- Continue east on Milwaukee Street over the Rock River.
- Proceed north on First Street.
- Travel east on Madison Street.
- Finally, head north on Second Street, reconnecting with Cady Street. (Please refer to the attached map for a visual representation of the detour route.)
PROPOSED SCHEDULE: The construction work is scheduled to commence on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, weather permitting. The project is expected to last for approximately two months, with the timeline subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors affecting construction progress.
