Aldermanic Offices to be elected in odd years:
- District 1 Alderperson
- District 3 Alderperson
- District 5 Alderperson
- District 7 Alderperson
- District 9 Alderperson
- District 2 Alderperson
- District 4 Alderperson
- District 6 Alderperson
- District 8 Alderperson
All of the above are two year terms. Primary will be held the third Tuesday of February if necessary.
Eligibility for office of Alderperson:
- At least 18 years of age
- Must not have been convicted of a felony for which the person has not been pardoned
- Must be a City of Watertown resident
- 20-40 signatures on nomination papers from district
- 2022-2025, 2025-2028, 2028-2031
- At least 18 years of age.
- Must not have been convicted of a felony for which the person has not been pardoned.
- Must be a resident of the City of Watertown
- 200-400 signatures on nomination papers
- Four year term

- Candidates for Municipal Judge must file a Statement of Economic Interest with the State of WI Ethics Commission. More information is available here: Ethics Commission
- Campaign Registration Statement - Form CF-1 or Form CF-1L. This statement must be filed with the City Clerk when nomination papers have been filed or when receiving/spending campaign funds. For further information on campaign finance, please visit the WI Ethics Commission website.
- Declaration of Candidacy - Form EL-162. The Declaration must be filed with the City Clerk no later than 5 p.m. on the first Tuesday of January (January 2, 2024) and must be signed in front of a notary.
- Nomination Papers - Form EL-169. The first day to collect signatures for nomination is December 1. Candidates may make additional copies if necessary. Nomination papers must be filed with the City Clerk no later than 5 p.m. on the first Tuesday of January. (January 2, 2024)
- Incumbents not seeking re-election: file Notification of Noncandidacy Form EL-163 to the City Clerk by 5 p.m. the 2nd Friday proceeding the deadline for nomination papers. ( December 22, 2023)
- Paper copies of all of required forms are available in the Office of the City Clerk, 106 Jones Street, Watertown, WI 53094.
Campaign Sign Information
- Campaign signs may not be placed in any Right-Of-Way/Boulevards
- See 550-132 Permitted Signs Rules in the City of Watertown Code or contact the Zoning Department if you have any questions pertaining to the placement of campaign signs
