Community Programs

Walk on Saturdaywalking

The "Walk on Saturday" program, sponsored by Get Healthy Watertown, invites individuals and families to join a leisurely, noncompetitive, and free walk at 9:00am every Saturday of the year. From mid-April to mid-October (during cooler weather the walks are held indoors at the Watertown High School), the program moves outside with walks beginning at various locations throughout the City. Each starting point for the outside walks offer participants the choice of a one-, two-, or three-mile route that best appeal to one's physical fitness and time constraints.

The purpose of the walk is to provide an exercise opportunity, meet new friends, and explore new walking territory throughout the City. The emphasis is on fun, leisurely walking. Families, including the use of strollers, are welcome. Dogs on leashes are also welcome as long as the owner has made provision for picking up waste

Schedule
Walks are held indoors at the Watertown High School every Saturday at 9:00am. Walks will move outside in mid-April with warmer weather
