ABOUT THE D.A.R.E. PROGRAM IN WATERTOWN

The D.A.R.E Program was implemented in the City of Watertown during the 1990-91 school year. Now, Officer Stacy Schroeder instructs the new 12 week curriculum to 5th graders in 5 public and 3 parochial schools. The new curriculum has a stronger foundation on “decision -making” and the new lessons have less lecturing and more active learning!

The Watertown Police Department has graduated over 6,000 kids over the last 17 years! Officer Schroeder is responsible for teaching D.A.R.E. in nineteen classrooms in eight schools throughout the Watertown Unified School District.
